in Honor of Charlie Kirk
A true patriot, a fearless defender of faith and freedom, and a voice America will never forget.
Though his voice has been silenced, we will carry his words, his mission, and his fire forward.
On this show, we pledge to keep his voice alive, louder than ever, for God and country.

Meet Your Host: E. G. “Eddy” Weiss

Responder. Threat analyst. Author. Reluctant grown-up.

E. G. “Eddy” Weiss is a man who has seen just about everything — and still manages to laugh about most of it. With over four decades in emergency management, disaster response, homeland security consulting, and law enforcement training, he’s not here to speculate — he’s here to tell it like it is.

From hurricane ground zero to border crises, from briefing rooms to burn units, Weiss has lived on the sharp edge of American readiness (or lack thereof). He’s trained the boots on the ground, challenged the suits in charge, and written more books than some public officials have read. His insights are sharp, his humor is dark, and his patience for incompetence is nonexistent.

Weiss is the founder of E.G. Weiss & Associates, 1910 Publishing Co., and co-founder of VirtuSafe. Weiss has worked with everyone from the local response agency in a town of 200 to the alphabet soup that is our Federal agencies.  He is known across the country for blending deep subject matter expertise with blunt commentary and just enough sarcasm to keep the burnout at bay.

On Old Enough to Know Better, E. G. Weiss brings all that experience to the mic — mixing tactical talk, unfiltered opinion, and a steady reminder that sometimes the best way to survive chaos... is to laugh at it.

Listener discretion advised. Bureaucrats be warned.

SUPPORTING THOSE THAT SERVE, RESCUE AND PROTECT

A Not For Profit Organization

Wisdom earned. Sarcasm sharpened. And no topic too sacred.

From the front lines of disaster zones to the shadows of homeland security briefings, Old Enough to Know Better is not your average podcast. Hosted by longtime responder, threat analyst, author, and proud curmudgeon E.G. Weiss, this show dives headfirst into the world of emergency response, law enforcement, and national security with the unapologetic voice of someone who’s been there, done that, and probably wrote the field guide afterward.

Each episode blends hard-earned insight with hard-hitting commentary. Whether we’re pulling back the curtain on government missteps, dissecting policy failures, spotlighting frontline heroes, or tackling the latest controversies in responder culture, Old Enough to Know Better does it without sugarcoating the truth but always with a grin and a well-timed jab at bureaucracy.

This is a podcast for:

  • First responders who’ve had enough of red tape and armchair experts.

  • Law enforcement professionals who still believe in the mission but question the madness.

  • Emergency managers, veterans, security personnel, and free thinkers who crave honest conversation.

  • And anyone who appreciates a bit of gallows humor with their situational awareness.

You’ll hear guest interviews with people who know their stuff (and some who think they do) but don’t be surprised if Weiss calls it like he sees it. After all, he’s old enough to know better... and bold enough to say it anyway.

Unfiltered. Unapologetic. Unmissable.
